Book of the Week
W&A: Francis Manapul |
This is the book that I am most excited about. Manapul did a great job on Flash and then later, Detective Comics of the New 52. Now with the Trinity in his hands, you won't know what to expect or what is coming next. With the description of what forces launched their career, I wonder if it will go into any of the Rebirth mystery and possibly Mr. Oz?
W: Dan Abnett A: Moritat |
This is a pretty straight forward pitch. Aliens and marines fighting to the death. Abnett has been doing a great job on both Titans and Aquaman and with this being a completely different genre, it should be worth checking out.
W: John Semper Jr. A: Will Conrad |
Cyborg Rebirth came out a couple weeks ago with a newish back story for Cyborg. SPOILER: The big reveal was that he may just be a copy of Victor Stone's memory. Since Cyborg has been bumped up to the Justice League he has not had a defining story, hopefully this is it.
W: Marv Wolfman A: Alisson Borges |
Raven #1 - 'The White Carnival' part 1! In a tale set between TEEN TITANS #24 and TEEN TITANS: REBIRTH #1, Raven takes a break from the team and moves to San Francisco to stay with her estranged aunt and face her most perilous challenge yet: high school! As Raven discovers more about her human side, one of her classmates goes missing under mysterious circumstances, and she must face an evil like none she's known before!
A Raven solo book is not something that you get often, especially when it is written by the creator of Raven along with half of the New Teen Titans. This is another character that DC has been under utilizing and seems to be best known lately by the Teen Titans cartoon show.
W: Cullen Bunn - John Barber A: Fico Ossio |
Revolution #1 - THE REVOLUTION BEGINS! Explosions rip across the Earth-and all signs of blame point to OPTIMUS PRIME and the TRANSFORMERS! G.I. JOE refuses to go quietly, and they assemble heroes big enough to stop the invaders! ACTION MAN and M.A.S.K. fight for humanity, but where do ROM and the MICRONAUTS stand? Celebrating more than a decade of stories by IDW and HASBRO, this unprecedented bi-weekly event draws everything together, and leaves nothing standing. The REVOLUTION is here. TAKE A STAND!
This is one book/crossover that I have been excited for. This is like half of the action figures that I have ever had as a kid in one comic book. I am always down to give anything with Transformers a chance. I don't know anything about M.A.S.K. except that Robot Chicken made fun of it. Cullen Bunn is a good writer so this should be pretty good.
W: Rick Remender |
Seven To Eternity #1 - The God of Whispers has spread an omnipresent paranoia to every corner of the kingdom of Zhal; his spies hide in every hall spreading mistrust and fear. Adam Osidis, a dying knight from a disgraced house, must choose between joining a hopeless band of magic users in their desperate bid to free their world of the evil God, or accepting his promise to give Adam everything his heart desires.
A new Remender book, count a lot of people in. This sounds like a fantasy, Dungeon and Dragons type of book, but on the cover it looks like the guy is carrying a rifle. Remender is a great story teller, which means this book has potential.
Think I missed something? Let me know in the comments.
